DTC Shines at Colorado College Invitational

Our cross country athletes had endured a long three months of summer training and were very anxious for their season opener this weekend at Colorado College.

Colorado College Invitational:
Our men’s team consisted of Jake Borel of Colorado State University and Dylan Anderson. Borel finished the 8k in 52nd overall in 28:13, and Anderson finished 79th in 30:15

On the women’s side we had Seven Finishers! Kirsten Lake took the overall win in the 6k with a time of 22:22! Meghan Curran placed 5th with a time of 22:45. Sophie Galleher 9th at 23:26. Amy De Seyn 33rd at 24:45. Jenny Riat 53rd at 25:53. Zoe Pagonis 57th at 26:05. Adrienne Boyd is racing herself back into shape after a mild injury–72nd at 27:26. Jacquelyn Myrin experienced a few problems during the race but toughed it out and finished the race–78th 28:02.

Joe Vigil Open Cross Country Invite:

Kenny Rennick represented the DTC at Adams State University this weekend. Rennick finished his 8k in 29th in 28:24.

Lehigh Valley Marathon:
Michelle Kluz jogged her way to an easy Boston Marathon qualifying time during today’s marathon. Kluz reported that the course had some unexpected surprises for her; at one point she was stuck at a train crossing for four minutes. Despite all of the challenges she managed to finish her first marathon bettering the BQ standard by 12 minutes!

Way to go DTC!

  1. Michelle Kluz needs to contact Lehigh to correct the results. She placed 4th at Lehigh and should have placed 3rd for Masters Women. The current 3rd place winner was a man who pretended he was 45 year old Jung Hong. Please ask Michelle to contact the race director at Lehigh to have this person disqualified. She used the man mule bib’s time to register at Boston 2017.
