DTC made it’s national debut as the only team representing the state of Colorado. Day one was met with many challenges but our athletes overcame the circumstances and posted fast times-many of them were season and personal bests.

100m: Badger lost his focus but did his best which was good for an 11.47 in a -1.6 m/s headwind.

1500m: Ferede runs an outstanding race and used his top-end speed to take the bronze medal with a MASSIVE 20 second PR of 3:56!

400: Coach Ramos scores points for the DTC with a 4th place finish!

800m: Waller had a great start to her 800m which allowed her to position herself perfectly for the race. Staying strong on lap 2, keeping contact with, and overtook P3 in the last few meters of the race. This resulted in a SB of 2:13 and a bronze medal for the event!
Ferede adopted the sit-and-kick strategy for his 800m run. Although he was 20m away from P1 at the 600m mark, his competitors were no match for his straight-line speed. Ferede walked away with a heat win, a PR of 1:55, as well as a bronze medal!

200m: Badger opts to start without blocks for his race. He finished with his fastest wind-legal time at 23.12!

10,000m: Olivia Long had an excellent start to her race and positioned herself comfortably within the lead pack, covering the first two miles in 11:50. Unfortunately disaster struck during her race and her quad began to nag her. Still fighting hard, she covered 5K in 18 mins but her performance continued to decline. Long gave the race everything she had and still managed to finish in 40 minutes flat.
